A Cyprus Dream Wedding
Luke & Lauren Richardson had their special day in sunny Cyprus on 14th April surrounded by their friends and family and the beautiful Olympic Lagoon resort In Ayia Nappa! They have kindly shared with us, in their own words some special details and photos of their day!
When did you get engaged?
We got engaged in the Royalton riviera in Mexico 4th aug 2019
Tell us about your proposal?
We traveled to Mexico with our best friends in aug of 2019. Luke had been planning the engagement months and months I think i was honestly the only person that didn’t know it was happening. Luke arranged a private dining meal on the beach on our second night when he handed me his phone and there was a video playing of him asking my terminally ill nana to have my hand in marriage, she was was so happy.
What made you choose your venue and tell us about your theme?
I chose our wedding venue online we where in the middle of Covid and I had so much time to research and choose a venue after reading up on reviews and seeing other weddings here I knew it was the venue for us. Our theme was white roses and pampas i chose these colours and flowers for the natural tones the light and airy colours suited our personality so well.
Tell us about your bridal party and how you came to choose them?
My bridal party was made up of 1 maid of honour my amazing sister Jessica the 6 of truly the best friends I could ask for one of them being a girl I met on holiday in Mexico in 2017. Our groomsmen where made up of Lukes best friends one of whome is the partner of my bridesmaid we met in Mexico. Our flower girls where our best friends daughters and our daughter Thea who was 9 months old. Our Page boys again where our best friends sons.
What was your favourite part of planning?
This is such a hard question the whole experience of being a bride and planning was amazing, I loved picking my wedding dress and picking my bridesmaids dresses in particular. I also loved picking out the style of flowers.
What was the hardest part of planning?
The table plan how! Arranging 68 people and where to sit on the day was hard. Favourite moment on the day - my mam waking me down the isle!
Tips for future couples?
Enjoy every second don’t take in every moment it’s over in a flash.
Anything either of you would do differently?
Nothing I wish we could do it all again
