A Real Wedding | Mr & Mrs Eason

Congratulations to the newly weds Wade & Leà who tied the knot this month at the stunning Gosfield Hall! Whilst the day is fresh in their minds they shared with us all of the special details from the engagement to honeymoon plans and everything in between!

Tell us about your engagement?

I held a surprise Great Gatsby themed 30th birthday party for Wade, which due to Covid around the time we weren’t actually sure if it was going to go ahead, I had told Wade we were going to a themed dinner in Brighton. Luckily, the party was still able to happen, we were surrounded by all our family and friends and as we sung Wade happy birthday and did his cake he went on to give a speech, which unknown to me he was planning to propose on this night all along! So with that, Wade proposed infront of everyone and of course I said YES! It was the most incredible evening shared with such special people.

How did you choose your Bridal party?

I chose my childhood best friend Jamie-Leigh to be my maid of honour, we’ve been friends for 16 years, we’re extremely close and have been through a lot together over the years, she’s so supportive and caring! She was absolutely incredible on the day. For my bridesmaids I had Kirsty, Kayleigh & Emily. Kirsty and Kayleigh are both very good friends of mine, and Emily is my cousin, I’m very lucky to have them all and love them to pieces! They all looked so beautiful on the day and absolutely loved their dresses!

Venue?

Wade and I always thought we would have a wedding abroad, however there was two venues in the UK we loved and Gosfield Hall was one of them. We were very lucky that a date became available in February for a Saturday so we booked in September 2022 which only gave us 5 months to plan a wedding, but we did it! Our theme was an elegant but slightly rustic feel whilst still being very clean and simple.

Favourite part of planning?

I think my favourite part of planning our wedding was towards the end as it was getting closer to the big day and just watching everything come together, it’s a really weird process as you have all these ideas and book all the different aspects for the day but don’t really see any of it coming together till the week before. Although very stressful it’s just the best feeling and made me so so excited.

Hardest part of planning?

I would probably have to say the most difficult thing about planning the wedding was just making sure everything was organised. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so was constantly panicking that I’d forgotten something or wanted to just double check on bookings etc. Luckily, my bridal party kept me sane throughout the whole process and I worked from lists A LOT!

Brides favourite moment of the day?

I think my favourite moment of the day would have to be when Wade saw me for the first time as I stood at the end of the aisle, it was a little bit chaotic because we had planned to do a first look and organised when he needed to turn around in the song, however he panicked and asked the registrar to tell him on the day and they didn’t.. so I ended up shouting his name from the end of the aisle to get his attention but I’ll never forget his face in that moment it felt like it was just me and him in the room, and I think for a moment I forgot everyone else was there because everyone just started to laugh which made me relax instantly 😂

Grooms favourite moment of the day?

Wade’s favourite moment was our first kiss as husband and wife. \

Tips for future couples?

Make sure you stay together.. the whole day, it sounds a bit strange but it was honestly the best thing we did, I didn’t want to look back and feel like I hadn’t actually spent time with the one person the whole day was about. It goes by so so fast, and everyone is there for you both. It’s your day and if you want to go off and spend hours just you two then do it! You won’t regret it!

Anything we’d do differently?

We wouldn’t change a thing about the day! We had the most perfect day, we just wish we could do it all over again.

Honeymoon plans?

We haven’t booked anything yet as we wanted to spread it out a bit, and because we want to take our little boy he’ll be around a year and a half, but we’re planning to book the Maldives or Thailand for January 2024!
