From a Lá Closet Bridesmaid to a Beautiful Bride

We were delighted when Megan & Marc Green agreed to share details of their special day back in May 2022.

Where was your venue?
All Saints Church, Kent and Norsted Manor Farm, knockholt, Kent

When did you get engaged?
16th December 2017

Tell us about your proposal?
My proposal from Marc was a complete surprise, we had moved into our first home together just before Christmas and Marc had decided to whisk me away on a surprise trip to Rome! I thought it was pretty crazy at first considering we had just moved into our home but couldn’t wait to get to Italy for the weekend fuelled with pizza, pasta, wine and of course sightseeing!

On our second day we booked a trip to visit the Vatican, it was incredible, at the end of our late afternoon tour the tranquil evening was setting in and as we were just heading out of St Peters Square, just below the most spectacular Christmas tree, Marc pulled on my hand and as I turned around there he was kneeling on one knee. Even after 8 years together I was totally caught off guard & couldn’t have hoped for a more magical moment, I was genuinely speechless for a short while.

Tell us about your bridal party and how you came to chose them?

My Bridal party were my family and my closest friends, we have grown up side by side together and I couldn’t have been without them by my side on my wedding day!! I wanted to make them all feel special & to thank them all for being a part of my life, picking their dresses was one of the easiest decisions having worn a 'La Closet De Chanel' dress a few of times myself; I had no doubt how stunning and versatile the dresses would be for my bridal party, complemented with a single ivory peony - simply beautiful!

What made you choose your venue and tell us about your theme?
Our venue was incredible, we loved the relaxed vibe of being in a big open field with a huge lake and cosying up inside the giant tipees. We had an indoor fire pit and outside boo hoo chic snug area to make it super cosy, bringing the outside in and the inside out! We loved to have the wild flowers and all the pretty fairy lights brightening up the venue enjoying delish food and lots of drinks ready to dance the night away! We left the majority of our theme to our wedding coordinators who absolutely smashed it and we trusted so much, we really just wanted a rustic vibe with neutral tones and they delivered beyond belief!

What was your favourite part of planning?
My favourite part of the planning was choosing all of the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen suits and of course our own outfits!! I actually had two dresses due to covid restrictions, I couldn’t fit into my first one!! So I went back to the beautiful bridal shop and the lovely ladies found my dream dress! Seeing all the outfits come together on the day was pretty amazing!

What was the hardest part of planning?
The hardest part in all honesty was planning the wedding as a whole due to the restrictions, we managed to finally wed on our fifth date but changing the wedding numerous times was quite challenging, however it did give us the time to change it all up and decide what we really wanted on our day and what meant the most to us!!

Brides Favourite moment on the day?
This is so difficult to pick an exact point as there were so many but saying our vows to one another was the most special thing I feel like I have ever done, and to be lucky enough to have done that in front of our family and friends – don’t think you could beat that!

Grooms favourite moment of the day?
This is short and sweet from hubby - Every moment. Every hour. But seeing my beautiful Bride walk down the aisle was a moment I will treasure forever!

Tips for future couples?
It’s cliché but the day is about you two as a couple, its super easy to loose sight of that when you are trying to accommodate your guests but bottom line is they just want you to have the wedding of your dreams. Its all about you two and definitely don’t forget that!

Anything either of you would do differently?
We wouldn’t, but the day went by so fast and you can’t stop time but the travelling between leaving our church and getting to the venue took up some real valuable time and I would just be conscious of not having a great distance between your venues.

Honeymoon plans if any?
We couldn’t go away for too long so we decided to have 3 nights in the stunning ‘Lani Suites Deluxe’ in Lanzarote. We were recommended this hotel and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful honeymoon suite with our own hot tub facing the sea! The hotel couldn’t do enough for us so if you are looking for a luxury stay you would not be disappointed!
